Acceptable use policy

Earbunny is made to help people care for their ears and posture together, never to spy on anyone. These rules keep it that way. They are part of our terms of use.

  1. 1Use it kindly and lawfully

    • Use Earbunny to support good habits, not to punish. Goals and rewards should be fair and encouraging.
    • Keep names, reward texts, cheers and notes respectful. No insults, threats, hate, sexual content or personal data of others.
    • Follow the law where you live, including laws on privacy, children and communications.
  2. 3Pairing and friend codes

    • Share a pairing code or QR code only with the person whose phone you are pairing, ideally in person.
    • Never post codes publicly or try to guess, collect or reuse other people's codes. Codes work once and expire after 10 minutes, and repeated wrong attempts are blocked.
    • Use friend codes only between children whose parents have turned friends on, and only with real friends.
  3. 4No attacks, reverse engineering or scraping

    Do not, and do not help anyone else to:

    • access accounts, data or systems you are not allowed to use, or test our security without following our security policy;
    • reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app or the service, except where the law allows it despite this rule;
    • scrape, crawl or collect data from the service or the website, or use bots or automated tools against it;
    • get around plan limits, rate limits, bot protection or other technical measures;
    • overload or disrupt the service, or upload malware;
    • pretend to be another person, a school or us;
    • resell or commercially use the service without our written permission.

    Found a security issue? Please tell us responsibly; see the security page or write to .

  4. 5Rules for schools

    • Give the class code only to the families of that class. Joining is always the family's free choice; do not pressure families or treat students differently if they do not join.
    • Use class reports only for awareness and teaching. They are averages; never use them to assess, grade or discipline an individual student.
    • Do not try to identify students from the reports, for example by comparing small groups or splitting classes to get below the 10-student minimum.
    • Keep school accounts for staff only, and remove staff who leave.

    More in the school data processing terms.

  5. 6Reporting abuse

    If you think Earbunny is being used to watch someone secretly, or you see any other abuse, tell us at or through the contact form. We treat reports confidentially and act quickly. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number first.

  6. 7What we do when rules are broken

    Depending on how serious it is, we may warn you, remove content, unlink a member, suspend or close the account, and report to the authorities where the law requires it or someone is at risk. We tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it, and you can contact us if you think we made a mistake.
